All my drawings are handmade. It all starts with a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. With it, I not only sketch, but also finalize the entire structure and details that make up the piece. I consider this the most creative part of the process: it's where I invent the shapes, construct the visual paths, and prepare the areas that will receive the textures later.
With the structure of the drawing ready, I begin applying black ink with a pen. This step is more technical: I follow the lines I've already drawn with the mechanical pencil, covering some areas with solid black. It's a process of filling in and defining, where the contrast gains strength and the image begins to vibrate on the paper.
Since I work with only one color (black), the use of textures needs to be very well planned. They bring rhythm, depth, and more contrast, without breaking the harmony of the form I imagined and created. The challenge is to connect each part of the design into a single idea, where complexity and clarity go hand in hand.
Once the drawing is finished, I also digitize it and divide it into parts again. This allows me to begin the 2D animation process and creation, a language that directly engages with the lines on paper, giving movement to the ideas.
